How to hide private files/folders?

You might want to save your private files/folders from the access of others.Here are the steps where you can hide your important files/folders.

1) RIGHT CLICK on a file you want to hide it.

2) click PROPERTIES.Under ATTRIBUTES, Find HIDDEN, tick it. and then clcik apply.

3)Now go to TOOLS placed on the top menu, and click FOLDER OPTIONS.

4) Under VIEW see HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDER. and click "DO NOT SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDER".

5)Now the files will not be shown.

To see the files go to TOOLS-->FOLDER OPTIONS--> "SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDER"

How to make a password of the system?

We often want to limit access of our system.and choose to put a password in the system. Its easy.Do the following.

1)Go to START-->SETTINGS-->CONTROL PANEL

2)See the icon USER ACCOUNTS. and click it.

3)Click on the account name on which u want to have password.

4) Now click CHANGE MY PASSWORD.

5)Choose a best password.

How to view information of computer system?

If you want to get information about system model, processor speed, hard disk capacity, memory capacity etc of computer, do the following steps.

1) click START menu.

2)Go to HELP AND SUPPORT.

3)From the top menu click SUPPORT.

4)From the left botttom side,choose MY COMPUTER INFORMATION.

5)Now click "VIEW GENERAL SYSTEM INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COMPUTER".

You can also view computer hardware such as video card, sound card, and network cad etc installed on the computer system.

steps 1 to 4 remain same.

5)Then click "FIND INFORMATION ABOUT THE HARDWARE INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER"

You can also view over all softwares installed on this computer

5)Then click "VIEW A LIST OF MICROSOFT SOFTWARE INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER"

How to format windows satisfactorily?

some times even though system has been installed after formatting still we remain unsatisfied with the performance of the system.

Be careful while installing windows again to your computer.

1)Remove internet cables or disconnect from the internet.

2)Insert CD and format it.

3)After windows has been installed, just shut down the system.otherwise errors might get loaded from other drives ( D:,E: or F:)

4) Now install an updated antivirus. and scan all the secondary drives.

5) Transfer all important documents to USB or A floop drive from secondary drives (D:,E: etc)

6) Format these drives.
Drives can easily be formatted by following these steps.
1)Click START.

ii)Go to PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES and then COMMAND PROMPT.

iii)Now use "cd.." command twice and return to C prompt 'c:\>'

iv)Write FORMAT, give SPACE , write drive name like this
"format d:"

v)Enter volume name and write "y" for yes.

How to recover system through "system Restore" tool?

System infections while using internet are very common. and effect is a slow system with many errors.Sometimes installed antivirus softwares get corrupted. But windows system recovery utility is what that can help us in restoring the system.

Do following steps for system restoration.

1) First of all what i prefer after i know system is corrupted is to disconnect system from the net.

2) I check doubtful processes in the task bar manager( CTRL+ALT+DEL) terminate these processes. If you are not clear about unwanted processes,leave it as it is.

3) Search files created between the period you feel system got corrupted.SEE LINK.and delete all files not created by you.There may be some softwares installed between these dates.you can unintall them or leave as it is. but be careful while deleting unwanted doubtful files.

4) Now follow these steps:

i) Click START menu.

ii) Go to HELP AND SUPPORT.

iii) From the top menu click SUPPORT.

IV) From the left bottom options, choose SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY and click SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY.

V)look for option "LAUNCH SYSTEM RESTORE" and click it.

vi)click NEXT.

vii)Choose a date where you feel system was functioning well. Click NEXT. And Again NEXT.

Now system will be restored to the date.
